Last month when my best friend moved far away, we had a coffee date before her departure.
While we were talking, I admired her grouping of cool bracelets. They seemed to have the perfect mix of a free-spirit look and classic femininity (just like her).
As we parted ways and wiped away tears, she gave me one of the bracelets. It seemed like a scene from Beaches, except neither of us is dying.
The bracelet is from Pura Vida. The company was started a few years ago by a couple of college friends visiting Costa Rica. They were blown away by the beauty of the area, but also troubled by the living conditions of some of the locals. They began teaming with artisans to bring jobs to the area.
I was so smitten by the bracelet and the business model, I ordered a couple of bracelets for my teenage cousin. The site offers free shipping anywhere in the U.S. and the packaging is really cute.
They also feature a full line of “awareness” bracelets for everything from domestic violence to environmental issues.
This post isn’t sponsored, I just liked the bracelets and wanted to share!
