In My House

Inspirational Lyrics From the 90s

It’s Monday night so let’s get light-hearted and talk about music from the 1990s! What a random decade when it comes to music. I am a huge fan of 1970s classic rock and the 1980s will always hold a special place in my heart both musically (Metallica did their best work then) and as my birth decade, but the 1990s gave us grunge, and a variety of ridiculous songs that evoke memories of my teenage years.

Sit back, read, and be inspired by these gems.

Alanis Morisette, 1995
It’s a traffic jam, when you’re already late. A no smo-o-o-king sign, on your cigarette break.

Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch, 1991
Vibrations good like Sunkist.
Many wanna know who done this.
Marky Mark and I’m here to move you.
Rhymes will groove you and I’m here to prove to you.

The Cranberries, 1993
You know I’m such a fool for you.
You got me wrapped around your finger, ah, ha, ha.
Do you have to let it linger? Do you have to, do you have to…Do you have to let it linger?

Spin Doctors, 1991
Marry him, marry me. I’m the one that loved you baby can’t you see?

Gerardo, 1990
Rico…Suave…Rico…Suave.

Oasis, 1995
And all the roads we have to walk are winding.
And all the lights that lead us there are blinding.
There are many things that I would like to say to you, but I don’t know how…
Because maybe…You’re gonna be the one that saves me…And after all…You’re my wonderwall.

Wilson Phillips, 1990
You’re in love…
And I know…
That you’re not in love with me.
Ooh it’s enough, for me to know, that you’re in love, now I’ll let you go.
‘Cause I know…That you’re in love.

Hootie and the Blowfish, 1994
Well, there’s nothing I can do.
Only wanna be with you.
You can call me your fool.
I only wanna be with you.

Sisqo, 1999
‘Cause she had dumps like a truck, truck, truck. Thighs like what, what, what.
Baby move your butt, butt, butt, uh…I think I’ll sing it again.

Hanson, 1997
In an mmmbop they’re gone.
In an mmmbop they’re not there.
In an mmmbop they’re gone.
