While decorating my older daughter’s room, I made sure to keep things fairly gender neutral in case a baby brother was ever in the cards. As soon as I received the news that our second (and last) child is a girl, too, it was time to spring into full girls’ room decorating action. I haven’t been this excited about mood boards since I was planning our wedding.
Our girls will be sharing a room so the challenge is to make it feel welcoming and comfortable for a newborn and a near-three-year-old while picking items that aren’t too babyish to last a couple of years. I am in love with Sabrina Soto’s designs for Target and I went a little hog-wild when they were on sale a couple of weeks ago.
Here are some of my favorite things for the room the girls will share.
1. These curtains and quilt/sham sets set the scene in the room. The quilt sets are available in toddler bed size, twin, and full. (Sabrina Soto for Target) 2. We painted the room this color before even moving into our house and I still love it. It’s neutral, warm, and you have to love the name Summer Sand. (Valspar) 3. How sweet is this rose throw pillow? (Pillowfort available at Target) 4. A special little box for trinkets. (H&M) 5. I put these signs in simple blue frames I already had at home. (MINTable Printables on Etsy) 6. I love this fox throw pillow that my daughter calls a kitty. (Sabrina Soto for Target)
Love this! Room sharing is definitely hard. My kids share a room too, but I have a boy and a girl. It’s…well…interesting. š

I’m hoping it won’t be too dramatic! Thanks for reading!
