In My House

American Masters: The Women’s List

Last Friday night my husband was out of town so I was snuggling my daughter on the couch and channel surfing when I stumbled upon PBS’s American Masters: The Women’s List. It featured brief, but poignant, interviews with 15 notable American women.

The interviews were touching and inspiring. While watching them, I looked down at my daughter and almost teared up just thinking about all the opportunities I want for her in this life. It also made me want to go back to undergrad (where I minored in Women’s Studies) and take another feminist history course. I just love that stuff. You can watch the episode any time on pbs.org.

The list:

Madeleine Albright, U.S. Secretary of State, 1997-2001
Gloria Allred, lawyer
